Viene de la palabra griega \u201c<strong>mimema<\/strong>\u201d, que significa \u201calgo imitado\u201d, y representa una forma de propagaci\u00f3n cultural, un medio para que la gente transmita memorias sociales e ideas culturales entre s\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>Estos memes se comportan como un virus en el sentido de que <strong>se comparten de persona a persona de forma r\u00e1pida<\/strong>, transmitiendo la idea que representan. Los memes que m\u00e1s circulan en la web son humor\u00edsticos, aunque tambi\u00e9n pueden llevar un mensaje serio y profundo. Por lo tanto, <strong>no se debe tipificar a los memes necesariamente con s\u00edmbolos o ideas humor\u00edsticas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bfSe puede incorporar un meme en una\u00a0<\/strong><strong>estrategia de marketing<\/strong><strong>?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Los memes no surgieron con la intenci\u00f3n de destruir, simplemente forman parte de <strong>la cultura del internet<\/strong>. Las marcas pueden aprovecharlos para interactuar y lograr mejores resultados de empat\u00eda con los usuarios; sin embargo, es importante analizar qu\u00e9 memes son los que vale la pena usar.<\/p>\n<p>El uso de memes por parte de las marcas no es nuevo. Muchas hacen uso de ellos en las <strong>redes sociales<\/strong> y se est\u00e1 empezando a hablar de ello con el t\u00e9rmino de <strong>\u201cMeme Marketing\u201d,<\/strong> en el que las marcas, dada la facilidad que existe para hacer memes, est\u00e1n empezando a crear sus propios contenidos de este tipo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Los memes ayudan a la marca a conectar mejor con su audiencia<\/strong>, sugiriendo un contexto conocido y normalmente c\u00f3mico que, adem\u00e1s, <strong>facilita la difusi\u00f3n del mensaje<\/strong>. Este es un terreno de gran inter\u00e9s, por ejemplo para el <strong>marketing de contenidos<\/strong>, que puede, nutri\u00e9ndose de los memes, tener un alcance mayor entre su p\u00fablico.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 empresas han tenido \u00e9xito con este tipo de estrategias?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Virgin Mobile<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En 2007, Laney Griner tom\u00f3 una foto de su peque\u00f1o hijo de 11 meses con una expresi\u00f3n muy peculiar y subi\u00f3 la foto inmediatamente a Flickr. En cuesti\u00f3n de horas, la fotograf\u00eda circulaba por todos lados con leyendas referentes a \u00e9xito o superaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>El \u00e1rea creativa de Virgin tom\u00f3 esta imagen y la adapt\u00f3 a su publicidad, en un anunci\u00f3 que llevaba la leyenda \u201cTim just realised his parents get HD channels at no extra cost&#8221;, haciendo alusi\u00f3n al sentimiento de satisfacci\u00f3n que el peque\u00f1o transmite con su expresi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>HipChat<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hipchat, una startup con mucho sentido del humor, utiliz\u00f3 el meme \u201cY U NO Guy\u201d para una campa\u00f1a de publicidad exterior en San Francisco. Y parece que acert\u00f3. Gracias a esta campa\u00f1a, el tr\u00e1fico de buscadores de Hipchat se increment\u00f3 en un 300%.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Noblex<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La agencia David se encarg\u00f3 de hacer uno de los comerciales m\u00e1s hilarantes sobre la Selecci\u00f3n Argentina de F\u00fatbol. \u201cLa idea fue reflejar este nuevo v\u00ednculo con la tecnolog\u00eda y mostrar c\u00f3mo una nueva generaci\u00f3n de hinchas se expresan y viven el f\u00fatbol\u201d, explicaron los responsables del comercial.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>En conclusi\u00f3n, <strong>los memes pueden enriquecer mucho la comunicaci\u00f3n que tenemos con nuestro p\u00fablico<\/strong>. Adem\u00e1s, su potencial impacto los hace especialmente atractivos para las marcas.
