What is MDT?

< The digitalization of the tourism sector >

The Master in Digital Travel & Tourism is a comprehensive training on digital business applied to the tourism sector: innovation, technology, marketing, ecommerce, data and transformation. And it is taught by professionals who are active experts in the different digital areas of the tourism sector.

In addition, you will be able to deepen the application of knowledge through a group project of digitization (TFM) of a real tourism company and the creation and launch of your own ecommerce to the market.

Quality training

Updated and taught by the best experts in the field. This master's degree is a collaboration between ISDI and the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).

Practical and specialized

Put in practice what you have learned by transforming a real company and launch your own ecommerce to the market related to the travel and tourism sector.

Optional internship

This master's degree also offers optional internships in leading companies in the sector with tutored follow-up, as well as a job placement program.

The MDT learning experience

In the Master in Digital Travel & Tourism you will learn surrounded by the best experts, with theory based on real cases and using the digital business tools that you will find in today's companies. At ISDI, we believe that you can only acquire new knowledge if you put it into practice and, therefore, the program combines theoretical classes, hands-on workshops, a group project of digital transformation of a real company in the tourism sector and the launch of your own ecommerce.

Discovery Classes

In this master's program, working professionals from companies, agencies and consulting firms will teach you from their experience through real cases. With pre-readings prior to the class, practical and interactive live sessions and additional material such as podcasts, webinars or recommended articles.

Digitization Project

Durante el Master in Digital Travel & Tourism de ISDI y UCM, trabajarás en equipo con ayuda de un tutor bajo una metodología agile con el objetivo de digitalizar una empresa real del sector, definiendo una nueva propuesta de valor, una estrategia de canales y comunicación, un modelo de negocio y un roadmap de trabajo.

Launch your own ecommerce

In addition to all of the above, you will have an Industry Challenge in which you will define, create and launch an ecommerce related to travel or tourism, including the definition of the product and service offer, communication, dissemination in networks and search engines, payment methods or logistics, among other elements.

Oriented to young people who have just finished university or with 1 or 2 years of experience who want to get a job in the digital field of the travel and tourism sector, this master's degree offers you the knowledge that companies demand:

06. Industry Challenge

In the module sessions, students will develop in a practical way the creation and implementation of an ecommerce, including the product offer, its communication and diffusion in social networks and search engines, sales, payment, logistics and associated services, applying the concepts, techniques and tools learned in the rest of the modules.

In this way, students will develop the technical and personal skills for the design, development and management of an eCommerce initiative through a complete experience that integrates the application of the skills acquired throughout the master's degree:

  • Solution prototyping
  • Selecting, configuring and launching an ecommerce platform
  • Digital advertising strategy: social networks and search engines (Google)
  • Data Analytics and Dashboards
  • Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

07. Troncal Project (Master's Thesis - TFM)

Throughout this module, transversal to the entire master, students will work on a core project of digital transformation of a real company under the tutelage of a tutor, who will play a supervisory role according to an "agile" methodology.

The tutor will establish the roles and challenges of the students, while the students will attend meetings determined according to a work schedule and will maintain communication among themselves and with the tutor through digital tools such as Trello or Slack.

Periodically, they will make partial presentations of the work milestones as they progress, and as established in the planning of the work. The tutor will supervise the final result and its corresponding presentation, as a previous step to the defense of the work before the final examining board.

During the core project, students will develop the following competencies:

  • Define a business concept within the travel and tourism sector.
  • Develop an attractive value proposition.
  • Designing the technological architecture on which the value proposition will rest.
  • Building a profitable and measurable business model.
  • Define a digital recruitment strategy together with the design of digital assets.
  • Establish a conversion and customer relationship management (CRM) policy.

ISDI and the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) have signed a framework agreement to unite prestige, educational quality and digital specialization.

Thanks to this agreement, you will obtain a Master’s degree from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) at the end of the Master in Digital Travel & Tourism.

Both institutions provide expert professors in each subject, support the Master's degree and, upon completion, you will become part of the ISDI Alumni Community, free for life.
