“From Madrid to Heaven” is one of the most popular sayings about the city. From the sunny clear skies to the bustling bars and cafés, Madrid is an enchanting city. It has been the Spanish capital since 1561 and is home to important State institutions such as the Government’s Headquarters and the official residence of the Spanish monarchs as well as the Spanish Royal Academy, and International Institutions such as the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
